We are so happy to have
you interested in Texas Youth Rodeo Association (TYRA), the oldest youth
rodeo association operating! We are looking forward to a very exciting
2012 rodeo season and want to welcome you back to the association or if
this is your first year with us we look forward to meeting you soon!
2012 RODEO SEASON
The board has already
meet several times in getting the next rodeo season ready, I believe
everything is about completed and very excited about the upcoming
season. To rejoin TYRA, you will need to send in your $60.00 membership
dues by January 15, 2012. There will be a $25.00 last fee if
paid after January 15. If you are a new member you will not be charged
a late fee and may join at any time. Old and new members please fill
out the membership form and remember to look on the back to have the
liability release signed and notarized. Of course new members you are
always welcome! Renewing members will not need to send in a birth
certificate only new members.
2012 RODEO SCHEDULE
Enclosed is the 2012
rodeo schedule. As in the past, everyone can attend the benefits, and
then out of the twenty rodeos scheduled you can pick the ten you would
like to attend. At the end of the season the top twenty five will
qualify for the finals in July. Please remember the two benefits will
be different this year – it will be a long go which you choose which day
to ride, Friday or Saturday, then there will be a short go bringing the
top fifteen (15) to the short go. There will be 300 points available
during the weekend – 100 in long go, 100 short go, and 100 for the
average. If you have any questions on this please contact Anne and I
will be glad to help.
2012 QUEENS CONTEST
This year’s contest
will be April 27, 2012, Saturday morning of our second benefit. After
receiving your membership application, you will receive information on
the queen’s contest in your membership package. You may also look on
the website. If we do not have more than five (5) girls that enter we
will not have a contest this year.

TYRA RAFFLE TICKETS
For the 2012 season we will be selling raffle tickets.
We will be having a contest this year for the top raffle ticket
sellers: 1st place will receive $300, 2nd place
will receive $200 and 3rd will receive $100. Each family
must sale $200/20 tickets. The first $200/20 tickets will be due,
postmarked by April 1, 2012 to the TYRA Secretary or in the hands of a
Board member. If they are not turned in by this time the member will
become ineligible and not be able to compete until they are turned in.
TYRA JACKET PROGRAM
To receive a TYRA Jacket a member may purchase it
outright from CH Graphics, or collect $500 per member in sponsorship
to receive a free letter jacket. The $200 raffle ticket
sales per family can be counted toward one member’s $500 sponsorship
level to qualify that member for a jacket.
COGGINS PAPERS
Please send a copy of current coggins papers with
membership form.
FIRST SEMESTER GRADES
If you have a copy of your first semester report card
please include with membership form. OR you may have the school
notarize the form included. (there is no reason to do both)
